If you are looking for more connection with those you love, you’ve come to the right place. We are going to push back against business, distraction, and the disconnected culture in which we live, and instead create meaningful interactions each day. It will not require much of a commitment. In fact, it only is going to require a minimum of 1 minute a day. We spend a great deal more time than that at any given moment on pursuits that have no lasting value. The dares are 14 days long. After signing up, you will receive an email each day telling you what to do. Meaning in a Minute Dares provide the structure to carve out moments…. moments that make a difference and create memories.
This idea was born after I went to the Re-Write Conference where I heard Peter Strople speak on instant change.. I began wondering what parents could do in a day to create instant change in connecting with their families that wouldn’t require a lot of time or preplanning. As I sat in the airport brainstorming on my piece of scratch paper, Meaning in a Minute came to life. It just so happened that I sat next to two different “Katies” on the two legs of my flights who brainstormed the idea with me, and by the time I landed at home, it had evolved to dares that focused not just on families, but on marriage, Christmas, teens, teachers, and friends (these will take time, but they will come).
My prayer is that your journey through the dare will encourage you to be intentional with those you love, even if just for one minute a day. It does make a difference, and it matters. Now go and create a heritage. A heritage of love that is only woven through time spent, and memories made.
